The Glenvar Middle School football team is at Christiansburg for a game this afternoon. The Highlanders are looking to rebound from a 38-20 loss to Covington Middle School in Covington last Thursday.
Kiptyn Jones ran for one touchdown and threw for two more scores against Covington. Cam Clark and Bryson Kuzmich caught one touchdown pass each while Raylan Franklin led Glenvar in receptions with eight. Kuzmich caught five passes.
Jaxson Myers led the Highlanders in tackles with six and a half and Kuzmich had three and a half.
“Our guys are giving good effort,” said coach Josh Jones. “We’re down 12 guys to injury, so a lot of guys are getting opportunities to make plays. Hopefully we can keep improving and get on the other side of things as we finish up.”
