The Glenvar volleyball team is off to a good start with two wins in their first two matches. After coming behind to beat James River to open the season the Highlanders went to Hillsville last Thursday and swept host Carroll County in three sets, 25-20, 26-24 and 25-17.
“I thought we played real well,” said coach Mark Rohrback. “Carroll has a pretty good team. They have some big girls.”
Claire Griffith led Glenvar with 14 kills to go with three aces. Caroline Craig had 40 assists with four aces while Hannah Hylton had seven kills, five aces and 13 digs. Sarah McIlwain contributed seven kills and Cara Butler had 18 digs.
“There are no easy games in our district,” said Rohrback.
