One of Salem’s most anticipated summer traditions, Jazz in July, will return for its 24th year at the Longwood Park Amphitheater on Saturday, July 19. The free concert begins at 3:15 p.m. and promises a full evening of live music, food and fun for all ages.

This year’s lineup features five acts selected by local jazz musician and aficionado Lenny Marcus:

  • 3:15–4:15 p.m. – The Sway Kats
  • 4:35–5:35 p.m. – Vosbein Magee Big Band
  • 6:00–7:00 p.m. – Shawn Spencer & Star City Swag
  • 7:20–8:20 p.m. – Jazz All-Star Band: Tribute to John Coltrane
  • 8:40–9:45 p.m. – Melissa Mesko & The Growlers

Gates open at 3 p.m., and music lovers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic supplies. A variety of food trucks—The Tailgate, Dale’s Diner, Salty Lobster & Co., and Wicked Lemon—will be on site offering food and family-friendly beverages. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, but outside alcohol is not permitted.

Parking is available at Longwood Park, with additional spaces at the Salem Museum and Oakey Field. A golf cart shuttle will assist attendees with mobility issues. Pets are not allowed.

For more information, contact the Salem Parks and Recreation Department at (540) 375-3057.
