It’s time to announce the winner of the December 18 football contest, the second last contest of the season. The winner is the best little fruit cake baker in Salem, Pam “The Little General” Cassell.
Pam swept the six college games on the contest and was an amazing eight out of nine on the tough pro games. Her only slipup was picking the Lions to beat the Steelers, and if you watched the crazy end to that one she was real close to a perfect week. Pam may not have won the billion and a half dollar lottery but she’ll get a $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s, and that’s almost as good.
For the 19th hole question I asked you to guess the score of the Oregon-James Madison opening round CFP game, which Oregon won 51-34. Closest to the actual score was Chas Colley of Salem, who guessed the Ducks would win 41-38. He’ll get a free round of golf at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street, and the weather’s been pretty nice lately.
