The Roanoke College women’s soccer team came up a goal short of pulling off another comeback when the Maroons lost to Bridgewater last Sunday, 2-1.

A week prior Roanoke came from 3-0 down to defeat Shenandoah, 4-3, then the Maroons shut out Emory & Henry last Thursday in Salem, 4-0. The Maroons were down 2-0 late in the game with Bridgewater but with just over three minutes to play, Eliza Ryan made it a one goal spread. However, the Maroons would not be able to score the equalizer and Bridgewater held on for the ODAC win.

The loss dropped RC to 2-2-1 on the season. Prior to the start of the match, Roanoke took a moment to honor their four seniors, Lucy Perry, Ellie Schad, Tessa Walsh, and Delaney Weston.

Roanoke was scheduled to play Hollins this Sunday but that match has been cancelled.
