To whom it may concern,
My name is Autumn Blevins. I am 19 and currently live in southwest Virginia. For years I’ve dreamed of going to Nepal to volunteer. And with the state of the world right now I can feel a call to serve. Volunteer trips are expensive and I really hope to spend a year abroad teaching English. I feel I can make a huge impact in the lives of children who came from families that can’t afford the cost of education. I am hoping to raise money for my trip abroad to the beautiful Hindu country.
I’ve decided to contact local newspapers to get my message out to hopefully raise money for this cause. I also hope to raise some money to donate to the school I’ll be teaching at. I plan on raising money through bake sales (I can make a mean brownie), solicitation and my waitress job.
I may not make a change in the world, but I know I’ll make a difference. Please join me in my efforts to make education available to all children regardless of color.
