President Trump wanted a great 80th birthday. He planned celebrations on the White House lawn by sitting ringside with Melania to savour a $60 million ultimate brawl event. This unique spectacle inadvertently mirrors the declining US empire brawling in a most violent way trying to stomp Iran into regime change. The winner of that fight is Iran, who fought two nuclear powers without nukes of their own, withstood assassination of its top leaders, and played its “trump” card by closing the Hormuz Straits. Iran benefitted from 40 years of war gaming, strategically using its geographical advantages and by withstanding multiple layers of assassinated leaders. Iran displayed a deep bench that survived every tactic in Trump’s quiver to the point of significantly depleting the US weapons arsenal including failing a risky attempt to fly into Iran and grab Iran’s nuclear “dust.”
Ironically, as Trump tried to seal the deal for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to end his widely-detested war, his real adversary turned out to be his ally Israel who attempted repeatedly to sabotage negotiations leading to the MOU. Lebanon is now paying an unforgivable price as Israel savagely attacks its villages, murders its people, and bombs its historical castle and even “salting” their farmland by spreading herbicide.
Perhaps this time Trump’s Israeli buddy, Bibi Netanyahu, stepped over Trump’s red line by trying his utmost to kill Trump’s MOU with Iran–an agreement that Trump prematurely announced 36 times as he lied his way to upholding the stock market. The world and US economy will suffer longterm from the Hormuz closure while US strategic oil reserves run dry.
Vice President JD Vance is busy putting “lipstick on a pig” in Sunday morning talk shows as he generously offers to allow the destroyed Gulf states to foot the bill for the reconstruction of Iran that Trump/Hegseth and so-called “good ally” Israel (Vance’s words) viciously destroyed. That reconstruction will be allowed “if Iran meets certain conditions.” Remember Trump failed to protect Gulf state allies. These Trump/Bibi war criminals’ madcap weekend war went predictably wrong as they deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure as trophies for Americans who do not appreciate destructive wars at their own expense. Now, Iran rightfully argues for reparations. All this amounts to Trump trying to redo the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal (the JCPOA) negotiated over two years by President Obama’s administration. Iran may keep its ballistic missiles and proxies Hezbollah and Hamas in the yet undisclosed MOU that war-mongering neocons will trash. Trump’s deal, however, will likely sail through because Congress would need two-thirds to override a likely Trump veto if Congress tries to block it.
With this governing model, Americans pay every which way. Trump takes Israeli leader Bibi’s advice to start an ill-advised war that depletes the US’s treasury, its military arsenal, and worldwide political capital. Taxpayers buy the weapons, suffer through the completely useless violence of an unpopular war, pay more at the pump and for food, then will probably owe the victim, Iran, hundreds of billions for Trump’s demented destruction. This follows Biden’s demented NATO-expansion provoked war on Russia as he restarted the Cold War. Will Americans ever get a break from unrelenting violence on their behalf and under their flag?
Don’t forget that the US completely subsidizes the existence of Israel whose citizens get free higher education, health care and immense military aid that is used to inflict unimaginable destruction and death on Gaza, the West Bank, southwestern Syria, and southern Lebanon in a likely land grab. In return, as Trump announces a MOU, Israel’s Prime Minister, Bibi, brazenly declared that he won’t abide by it. Israel is trying to adjust to Iran’s new prominence in the Middle East along with Iran’s confrontation against Israel’s genocidal “Greater Israel” project. But its powerful lobby in the US still continues its bribery and corruption of the US Congress which for too long has bent to Israel’s demands and against the US’s true national interests.
Buried deep in the newly-proposed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is a provision that Israel’s IDF will be merged seamlessly with the US military to share intelligence, weapons, and strategy with the US and receive retirement benefits thanks to US taxpayers. In admirable response, phones of congressmen are ringing off the hook with calls from concerned citizens to stop this before Israel’s complete hostile takeover of our government. This is a sneak attack on America’s sovereignty with the complicity of traitorous congressmen like Virginia’s Ben Cline who rubber-stamps whatever Israel wants.
Bipartisan media and congressional reaction are voicing loud complaints, but President Trump was elected after Democrats failed to run a winning candidate who would oppose Israel’s genocide in Gaza. (Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, heard and saw plenty of evil but remained “dumb”). Trump’s promises to end forever wars won him the election, but then he did a U-turn. We Americans and now the entire world will pay endlessly for the failure of our two-party electoral duopoly to respond to Americans’ anti-war demands.
