Football Rankings Are a Farce
Once again the VHSL has shown itself to be the most ineffective organization in the state. Nobody but them understands their ranking system because it truly is a farce. To have Blacksburg ranked higher than Salem is an absolute joke.
The Roanoke Times said that key wins over Giles and James River helped them remain in the 8th and final playoff spot. Apparently they didn’t take into consideration that Giles is a 1A school and James River 2A. I thought playing UP and not down in your schedule had more weight in determining rankings. Apparently not!
