
Middle School basketball teams were able to get their games in last Thursday before the inclement weather set in.
The Andrew Lewis boys’ team defeated Hidden Valley in Salem, 61-27. Jayden White led Lewis with 16 points on seven for nine shooting, Redic Stepp had a dozen and Aaron Brower scored 10.
The Lewis girls won at Hidden Valley, 35-23, after jumping out to an 11-0 lead. Ella Ridinger led all scorers with 14 points, which included three first half three-pointers.
The Glenvar boys won at Shawsville, 53-20. Lane Williamson scored 16 points while Kiptyn Jones added 14 points and Bryson Kuzmich had 10 points. Ryland Marshall grabbed five rebounds and Kuzmich had five steals.
The Glenvar girls also beat Shawsville, 28-9. Anabelle Phillips started off strong scoring Glenvar’s first six points and finished with 10.
The Highlanders will play a boys-girls doubleheader at home against Radford today. Lewis was at Pulaski for a doubleheader Wednesday.
