March to the Salem Public Library for March of the Penguins Month 

March! March! March to the Salem Public Library for March of the Penguins Month!  Children will receive a small prize when they check out a book about penguins.  Join us at the Salem Public Library for the following children’s programs in March. 

Barks & Books:  Read with a therapy dog.  Children aged 6-11; Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.  Register at salemva.libcal.com. 

39 Clues Book Club:  Tuesday, March 14, 3:30 p.m.  5th-8th graders.  Join us as we discuss the latest book in the series.  Register at www.salemva.libcal.com

Thursday, March 9:  DMV Connect at Salem Library; 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m.; Walk-ins only.   

Monday, March 13, 1 p.m.: Virtual Author Talk with David Epstein, NY Times bestselling author. Join a conversation about Epstein’s recent book, “Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World.”  Register at www.salemlibrary.info

Wednesday, March 15, 6:30 p.m.: Same Page Book Club, LGBTQ+ book club 

Monday, March 20, 4 p.m.:  Heritage Apiary Bees: in-person program.  Learn about the amazing world of honeybees!  Register at www.salemva.libcal.com

Tuesday, March 21, 4 p.m.:  Virtual Author Talk with Jernard A. Wells, celebrity chef and author of “Southern Inspired: More Than 100 Delicious Dishes from My American Table to Yours.”  Register at www.salemlibrary.info  

Wednesday, March 22, 2 p.m.; DIY Upcycled Book Coat Rack Craft Program; Must be age 18 or older to participate since power drills will be used.  Join us as we create a Literary Coat Rack out of upcycled books. We will provide all necessary materials, however, if you own a favorite book and are willing to turn it into functional art, bring it with you! In addition, attendees are encouraged to bring a cordless drill if possible. If not, the library will supply some to share. Register at www.salemva.libcal.com

Mar 28, Tues; 1pm:  Afternoon Book Club: “No Where Left to Go” by Benjamin Von Brackel.
