Lions Roar, Cassell wins the contest

The Lions roared for Pam Cassell Monday night. When Detroit beat Green Bay in the Monday Night game the “Little General” edged out a couple others to win our weekly football contest.

Cassell missed just three games, but had the Packers pulled out the game Monday someone else would have finished on top. The Packers have struggled since losing Aaron Rodgers, who just might be the best quarterback in the game right now.

For her efforts Pam will receive the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s, a sub from Joe’s Deli, a gift certificate from Awful Arthur’s and a cap from Sportsman’s Warehouse.

For last week’s “One for the Road” contest I asked you to pick the score of the Virginia Tech-Miami game. The Hurricanes came out on top in that one, 28-10, and the closest to the actual final score was Marvin Clark, who guessed 28-20. The Hokies got the majority of the support, which was no surprise, but Marvin will get the United States Atlas from Hettie Barnes of State Farm Insurance.

For this week’s “One for the Road,” give me your prediction on the CIAA championship game at Salem Stadium this Saturday at 4:30 pm. It will be the Fayetteville State University Broncos against the Virginia State University Trojans, and is should be a good one. Give me the winner and the score and the closest to the actual score will get the atlas from Hettie.    –Brian Hoffman
