Beth Macy, the Democratic candidate in the 2026 U.S. House 6th District race, announced this week that her campaign raised more than $1 million during the third quarter of 2026.
Macy, who is challenging Republican incumbent Ben Cline, has received $2.6 million from 25,000 individual donations since she entered the race in November 2025, according to her campaign. They added that none of the money came from corporate PACs, and 75% of the donations are under $100 each.
The 6th District spans from the northwest corner of Virginia down into the Roanoke Valley, including the city of Salem.
“I am grateful to the people who have contributed their hard-earned money to my campaign to flip the 6th District,” Macy said. “These contributions mean so much more than just dollars, although the dollars certainly help. They represent real people who are hungering for change and who believe that a better future for all Americans is near. We have all the momentum running down the stretch. We have the belief, the drive and the support to win this election.”
Early voting continues in Salem at the General Registrar’s Office at 19 E. Clay St. through Oct. 31, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The office will also be open the next two Sundays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Halloween from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Those who have not registered to vote can still do so through Friday, Oct. 23
