Due to a stadium scheduling conflict, the Roanoke College football team’s first game of the 2026 season has been moved up two days. The Maroons’ road contest at the Virginia University of Lynchburg (VUL) originally slated for Saturday, Sept. 5 is now set for Thursday evening, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. at Lynchburg’s City Stadium. The program will play a Thursday night game for the first time in history since the team returned to varsity status in 2025.

Head coach Bryan Stinespring and the Roanoke College football team will have five home dates this season.Ticket information, and when sales will begin for the five home games in Salem Stadium will be announced in the coming months. The Maroons finished the 2025 season, its first season of varsity competition since 1942, 5-4 overall and 4-4 in conference play.

“We are excited about the upcoming 2026 season and looking forward to building upon the inaugural year,” said Stinespring. “Our team is busy prepping for spring practice and looking forward to seeing a packed Salem Stadium this fall. We thank you for all of your support and Go Maroons!”

After the Thursday night opener in Lynchburg the Maroons will follow up with a Sept. 12 home game against Greensboro College. Following a bye on Sept. 19, Roanoke travels to Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 26.

The Maroons begin Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Oct. 3 at Guilford College before hosting Hampden-Sydney College the next week. RC visits Shenandoah University on Oct. 17 before hosting back-to-back home games against Averett University and Bridgewater College.

Roanoke travels to Ashland to take on defending ODAC Champion Randolph-Macon College Nov. 7 and wraps up the regular season Nov. 14 at Salem Stadium against Washington & Lee University.
