The Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team will get a stiff test this Saturday when they travel to Carlisle, PA to take on traditionally strong Dickinson College. Game time is noon as the 2-0 Maroons look to remain unbeaten.

Roanoke didn’t get much of a test last Wednesday when they hosted Averett University for their Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener. Roanoke jumped on top 19-0 at the half and coasted to win as first year coach Grant Zimmerman was able to clear the bench.

Evan Friend led the Maroons with four goals in the game and Owen Ameo had three in a game where the Maroons could have scored even more but slowed the pace in the second half. Jackson Kreter, Griffin Dabbs, Anthony Muniz, Christian Friedl, Brayden Phillips and Charlie Ryan all scored twice. Blake Rieger, Connor Lockwood, Julian Kammerman, Preston Shields, Jack Savoie, Michael Ormond, and Brayden Phillips all notched two assists. David Hamilton and Alex Feuer combined for six saves on the only six shots on goal that Averett got off all night.

Roanoke is back home next Tuesday, March 3rd, to host Grove City College at 1 pm.
