The Roanoke College men’s soccer team swept weekend home games to improve to 4-1 on the season. The Maroons defeated Methodist on Friday, 6-0, then beat North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday, 2-0.
Saturday’s match extremely close and was scoreless at the half. Roanoke got an early second half score from Anthony Zarlenga and added another score in the closing minutes by Liam Camilleri to run their home record to a perfect 3-0 to start the season.
Roanoke will now embark on a five-match road trip over the next three weeks with the first stop in Farmville to face their rivals from Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday. The match with the Tigers is a non-conference affair.
