The Roanoke College women’s soccer team improved to 4-2-3 on the season with a Family Weekend win over Sweet Briar last Saturday at Kerr Stadium in Salem. The program’s nine seniors were honored in a pre-game ceremony.
Senior Rebecca Carr drilled the first goal home after 20 minutes of play.
Caroline Arndt took a pass from Carr to net the game’s second goal seven minutes later. Sweet Briar’s defense allowed just the two tallies despite getting outshot 28-2. RC held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Maroons were scheduled to play Guilford in Greensboro on Wednesday of this week but results were too late for publication. This Saturday Christopher Newport University is here for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
