CRAFT, Dorothy C.

Dorothy Cahoon Craft, 85, of Fincastle passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 27, 2017.

Dorothy was born July 23, 1932 to the Earl and Annie Cahoon of Fincastle. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William Hayden Craft; sisters, Shirley Cahoon and Clara “Nip” Conner; and her brother, Malcolm “Mac” Cahoon.

She is survived by her sister, Charlotte McClung, and brother, Lloyd Cahoon. Dorothy is also survived by her daughters, Linda Craft, Rebecca Roach, Joyce Cahoon, Tammy Naff, Lisa Entsminger and Tina Linkenhoker, and their respective spouses. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who knew her as “MeMaw.” Dorothy had many friends that affectionately called her “Dot.” “Dorothy loved spending time with her family and everyone who got to meet Dorothy could not help but love her. Heaven has met another angel. Dorothy, you are now in the Lord’s gentle arms and surrounded by the spirit of Christ, May you rest in everlasting Peace.” Her funeral service was held Monday, October 30, at 2 p.m. in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Mitchell officiating. Interment was in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. The family received friends Sunday, October 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. SAUNDERS, Walter W.

Walter Wayne Saunders, 62, of Buchanan, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard, Sr. and Rose Ella Gray Saunders. Survivors include his sister, Yulanda Saunders (Joe) Chapman of Roanoke; brother, James Leonard Saunders Jr. of Buchanan; nephews, James Saunders (Heather Wertz) and Joe Chapman, Jr.; nieces, Marie Saunders, Elizabeth Joan Chapman, and Yulanda Jean (Andy) Shultz; great-nephews, Cory Saunders and Dakota Saunders; great nieces Maya Saunders, Dominique Rose Chapman, and Anastasia Shultz; great-great niece, Lily Rose Saunders.

The family received friends Monday, October 30, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home from 9 to 10 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. with Pastor Marina Gopadze officiating. STEVENS, David A.

David Allen Stevens, 66, of Fincastle passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Doris Stevens; and sister, Susan Myers. He was a dedicated farmer all of his life, loving the land on which he worked. He was a true country gentleman, not meeting a stranger, and loving all animals.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Evelyn Smith Stevens; step-son, Mark Tyree; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Steve Robeson; brother-in-law, Harold Myers; sister-in-law, Karen Thomas; nephew, Marshall Myers and wife, Kristie, nieces, Susanne Myers and Stephanie DeHart; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayla and Konner Myers; Bryce, Blake, and Madison Myers, and Madeline DeHart; his precious dog, Baby; and many other loving family members.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 2, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the League for Animal Protection in Fincastle or the FFA Clubs of Lord Botetourt and James River. WYMER, Virginia P.

Virginia Lorraine Paitsel Wymer, 74, of Fincastle, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017.

She was a retired Custodian for Central Academy in Fincastle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Wymer, and parents, Marion Clinton and Maggie Huffman Paitsel.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Peggy Goad of Fincastle, Ann and Joe Walk of Bedford; son, Edward Wymer and Connie Smith of Rockbridge; step-sons, Carl Wymer Jr. and James Wymer; sister, Claudine Hutchinson of New Castle; brother, Walt Paitsel; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Elizabeth “Bucky” Ayers, and Linda Simmons.

Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 2, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, with the Rev. Tracy Terry officiating. Interment will be private in Godwin Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
