A plaque in memory of Kelvin Bowles will be mounted at Salem Memorial Ballpark today, August 28, at a 10 am ceremony. Bowles, who died in February of 2022, was the former owner of the Salem Carolina League baseball team and is often credited with being instrumental in keeping the ballclub in Salem. Kelvin was also a professional baseball scout, a Board Member of the Salem-Roanoke Baseball Hall of Fame and a 2001 inductee to the Hall.
