The Salem Police Department reported the following people were arrested and charged September 4 – September 10.

Arrest indicates an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent unless found guilty in court. Police do not release the names of persons under the age of 18. Those arrested and their charges were listed as: September 4 – Nicholas E. Fisher, 24, failure to appear; Peggy S. Sparks, 47, possession of marijuana, shoplifting; Devonte A. Joyce, 22, possession of marijuana; Harold A. Lytle, 62, DUI; Dehonor N. Hairston, 27, possession of marijuana; and Michael L. Wohlwend, 30, public intoxication September 5 – Tyler J. Griffith, 24, domestic assault and battery; and Melvin L. Francisco, 69, sexual battery September 8 – Bridget L. Ayala, 37, petit larceny; William H. Kingery, 32, public intoxication; Campbell S. Marsh, 20, public intoxication; Michael W. Johnson, 32, public intoxication; and Crystal A. Craver, 41, DUI September 9 – Quinton O. Hurt, 23, violation of protective order September 10 – Chancellor A. Carmichael, 21, possession of marijuana; and Jack L. Poff, 51, damage property
