Due to early Thanksgiving deadlines, I’m not going to have a winner for you in our football contest until next week.

My deadline to finish the sports was Monday afternoon and the Falcons and Seahawks were yet to face off in their “Battle of Birds” at that time. There were still several folks alive at that point, so I’ll announce the winner next week in the November 30 issue.

I can give the winner for our “One for the Road” question, as I asked what you have to be thankful for as we celebrate Thanksgiving this week. We received a lot of good answers but the one I picked came from Sheena Nichols of Salem, who wrote, “I’m thankful that I get to watch football on Thanksgiving with my newborn baby girls for the first time.”

Congratulations, Sheena, and hopefully she’ll be entering the contest as well before too long. The two of you get the atlas from Hettie Barnes of State Farm Insurance, and thanks to everyone for the great response.
