The Roanoke College Golf team finished ninth at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate tournament that was shortened to a 36 hole event after Sunday’s final round was cancelled due to weather. The tournament was held in Jacksonville, NC.
Bradley Williams earned his first collegiate top-10 finish by placing in a tie for ninth in the 74 player field. Williams shot an opening round 77 then shaved five strokes off his score with a 72 on Saturday to finish with a 149 overall.
Glenvar graduate Nick Peters shot a 77-78—155 to place in a tie for 31st, while Evan Diebus carded a 76-83—159 to finish in a tie for 46th.
Roanoke as a team shot a two day 309-307—616 to finish ninth. Surry CC won the team title with a 313-289—602 to finish three strokes in front of Husson which had a 320-285—605.
The Maroons are back on the course Monday, April 2, to play in the Lynchburg Invitational.
