The Roanoke College men split two basketball games last weekend while the women won a home game against North Carolina Wesleyan.
The men were at Salisbury University in Maryland for a two day invitational. On Friday they defeated Marymount University, 73-54, behind 15 points by Marcus Morgan. Gavin O’Malley had a game-high 11 rebounds.
On Saturday the Maroons lost for the first time this season, falling 84-79 to Wesleyan University in a game between D3hoops.com top 20 teams. The Maroons were ranked number 10 to start the season while Wesleyan was 13th.
The RC women defeanted NC Wesleyan at the Cregger Center in Salem last Saturday, 70-62. Ashley Fowler had 18 points to lead the Maroons. Roanoke is now 3-1.
Both the men and women are now 3-1. They will open their ODAC schedules this Wednesday with a doubleheader at Guilford. The men will open the event at 5 pm.
