The Old Dominion Athletic Conference cross country championships were held in Winchester, Virginia Saturday at the Kernstown Battle Course. The Maroon men took third and the women were eight as the University of Lynchburg swept both the men’s and women’s team titles.
Chamberlain Zulauf of RC was named Second Team All-ODAC after finishing 14th overall on the 8k course in a time of 26:35.8. With the top 14 runners being named All-ODAC, Zulauf beat out the 15th place runner from Averett by 0:00.1 and the 16th place runner from Lynchburg by 0:00.2. Lynchburg’s Frank Csorba, who earlier this season became the only ODAC runner to crack 24 minutes on an eight-kilometer course in league history, won the men’s individual title with a time of 25:38.4.
Zoe Dunlap was the top finisher for the Maroons, completing the 6k course in 25:17.1 in 31st place overall among the 97 runners. Lynchburg’s Kelsey Lagunas clutched her second straight ODAC Runner of the Meet award as the individual champion. She clocked a time of 21:55.8 on the six-kilometer course.
Roanoke will now prepare for the 2022 NCAA Division III Southeast Regional Championship to be held on Saturday, November 12, at Christopher Newport in Newport News, Va.
