The Roanoke College women fell to 1-7 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference games with a 77-71 loss to Randolph-Macon in Ashland last Friday evening. It was the fourth straight ODAC loss for the RC women, who fell to 7-10 overall.
The Yellow Jackets built an eight point lead in the first half at 34-26. The Maroons cut the lead to 57-53 in the third quarter but Roanoke couldn’t catch the Jackets down the stretch.
RC’s Ashley Fowler led the RC scoring with 19 points. The junior was one of three players to break double figures on the evening as Alicea Farmer had 17 points and Paige Breuer hit for 13. Mariah Cain led the way in rebounds, grabbing six boards.
The RC women were scheduled to return to the court on Wednesday and they had their work cut out for them against undefeated Washington & Lee in Lexington. Results were too late for publication.
This Saturday the Maroons will host Randolph College at noon.
