Roanoke College’s Kylah Blackmore was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.

Blackmore, a senior from Mechanicsville, Va., exploded for a high-volume double-double as the Maroons erased a 3-0 loss to Guilford earlier this season with a 3-2 triumph over the Quakers in Salem last week. RC won 25-16, 21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9 in a marathon match.

Blackmore registered 28 kills to go with 18 digs. The 28 kills are the most in the ODAC this season and second-most in Roanoke history. It also ties for 13th as the sixth-best total in a five-set match in NCAA Division III this season.

Blackmore committed just two errors to rack up a .456 attack percentage. She also tacked on a block-assist to bring her point total to 28.5 for the match and 5.7 per set. For the season, Blackmore leads the ODAC with 220 kills and is second at 3.14 per match. She owns the top-two highest output matches for kills this season, joining this effort with 25 kills against Methodist earlier this season.

Meagan Smith and Logan Graves each had six kills against Guilford while Alex Wolfe had five. Christen Zammit had 48 assists on the night. Defensively Ryan Hedgpeth had 37 digs.

Roanoke hit .261 in the fifth and deciding set to win the match. With the score 11-9, Kelsey Goodman sparked a 4-0 run for the Maroons to close the match that was capped by a Graves kill.

The Maroons were 8-11 overall after a three set win over Randolph College in Lynchburg Tuesday, and that evened their ODAC record at 4-4. Roanooke will host Averett University tonight at the Cregger Center at 7 pm.
