The Roanoke College basketball team improved to 16-7 as the Maroons won their seventh game in a row last Saturday. Roanoke beat Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Washington & Lee, 84-66, at the Cregger Center in Salem.

With the score tied at 7-7, a three-pointer from Colton Reed sparked what would prove to be an 18-4 run with a Logan Vosburg layup making it 25-11 with 8:40 to go in the first half. The Maroons cruised through the rest of the half and at two different points held a 16 point lead over the Generals. RC would go to the locker room up 47-34 at the intermission.

With the score 57-44, RC put the game away with an 11-0 run that was capped by a Jorden Davis bucket to make it 68-44 with 9:48 to go in the game. Davis led RC by tying his career-high with 19 points. C.J. Miles had 18 points, while Josh Freund had 15 points to go along with a team-high nine rebounds.

The Maroons improved to 9-5 in the ODAC with the win. They were scheduled to host Randolph College on Wednesday and Saturday they’ll wrap up the regular season with a 2 pm game at Hampden-Sydney.
