The Roanoke College baseball team will be home this Saturday to host Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference double-header. The first game is scheduled to begin at 11 am at Salem Memorial Ballpark.
The Maroons fell to 12-4 overall and 2-2 in the ODAC when they dropped a doubleheader to Randolph-Macon in Ashland last Saturday. The Maroons lost the first game, 12-2, then lost 5-3 in the nightcap.
In the opener Roanoke scored the first two runs in the top of the first but from that point it was all Yellow Jackets. Michael Hetzel and Noah Donaho had two hits each for RC.
In game two RC took an early lead again, scoring three times in the third but failing to hold the lead. Donaho had a pair of runs batted in and drilled his third homer of the season.
This week the Maroons are North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday for a non-conference game. After Saturday’s home doubleheader with EMU they’re scheduled to host Averett in an ODAC game in Salem next Tuesday, March 24, beginning at 2 pm.
