The Roanoke College men’s soccer team will play host to Bridgewater College this Saturday for a Senior Night and Family Weekend game. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Kerr Stadium in Salem for RC’s first ODAC game of the season.
The Maroons are 2-4 after being shut out by Salisbury University in Salem last Saturday, 1-0. The Seagulls remained undefeated at 6-0-1 win the win.
Salisbury’s Harry Vasilios scored on a header from a corner kick in the 77th minute for the lone goal of the game. RC’s Denzel Marufu tied his career-high nine saves in the match. Slate Danforth, Pacific Kabungulu, Ed Law, Carlos Lomena, and Peyton Mancini all recorded multiple shots but none found the net.
Last Thursday at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Roanoke fell behind 2-0 early and dropped a 4-1 decision to visiting Hope College. Will Demus scored for RC with assisted to Evan Burke and Sean O’Laughlin.
