The Roanoke College women’s basketball team has been selected fourth in the 2022-23 ODAC Preseason Poll. The Maroons collected 112 points and one first-place vote.
Randolph-Macon is picked to finish first, garnering 136 points and seven first-place votes. Randolph is picked second and had 127 points and two first-place votes, while Washington and Lee earned 116 points and the final three first-place votes to take third, followed by the Maroons with 112.
Bridgewater and Shenandoah each finished with 89 points in a tie for fifth. Lynchburg (87), Guilford (86), Ferrum (57), and Eastern Mennonite (39) round out the top 10. Hollins, ODAC newcomer Averett University, and Virginia Wesleyan finished in 11th-13th.
The poll was done by a vote of each head coach in the ODAC with teams unable to vote for themselves.
The Maroons open the season on the road with a visit to Staunton to take on the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin on November 11. The home opener is next Wednesday, November 16, with a 7 pm game against the University of Lynchburg at the Cregger Center.
