Green Hill Park will be the site of the “Rooney Invitational” cross country meet this Friday at Green Hill Park. Races begin at 5 pm at the park in west Roanoke County.
The Maroon men’s cross country team kick-started the season in style last weekend, winning the 2022 EMU Invitational at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg. The women’s team finished third and between both teams the Maroons recorded seven top-15 finishes.
Cooper Neeble (16:36.3) and Chamberlain Zulauf (16:41.5) finished second and third overall to lead the Maroon men. Lauren Brown was the top finisher for the women’s team with a ninth-place finish in a time of 21:58.8.
