This Friday, May 19, at 7 p.m., the Salem Democratic Committee is proud to host a primary debate between the two candidates for the party’s nomination for the 8th House of Delegates District race against the incumbent Greg Habeeb (R) in November.

The debate will feature Bryan Keele, who is a long-term resident of Virginia and the son of a coal miner. A loving father of four small children, Bryan owns multiple small businesses in the valley. Bryan is very active in his community, in his local church and is a member of the executive board of the Roanoke County Democratic Committee.

His opponent will be Steve McBride, a teacher and research scientist at Virginia Tech, who is working on his Doctorate in Biology. Steve also volunteers as a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is a member of the Roanoke County Democratic Committee. He lives in Salem with his wife and daughter. Learn more at McBride4Delegate.com.

The debate will be in the Colket Building on the Roanoke College campus, behind the Bast Center off of Market St., in Salem, VA. Admission is free, but the Salem Dems do request that attendees make a small donation to help cover the costs.
