
In honor of Pickin’ in the Park this Saturday, the Salem Museum highlights this photo from their collection.
This country band poses around a WROV microphone. Taken in the 1940s, this photo shows a band in the radio studio ready for broadcast. The members are: (standing) Ed Newman, Sayford Hall, Roy Hall, and Clayton Hall; (in front) Carl Decker, Jay Hugh Hall, and Bill Brown.
The Salem Museum has hundreds of historic photographs in their Logan Research Library. Those curious about the collection can contact the Museum to make a research request to learn more.
Longwood Park comes to life with great music this Saturday night, Aug. 16, for Pickin’ in the Park. The music will begin at 5:30pm.
Salem Museum members Bronze Star tier and up can enjoy this annual bluegrass celebration from the comfort of the Museum’s green roof. Existing members can bring their membership cards and enjoy the music. Non-members are welcome to contact the Museum to learn more and become a member today!
