Salem natives complete basic military training

Two U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airmen, 1st Class John A. Wilson and 1st Class Devonte D. Wilson, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

John is the son of Vivian L. Wilson. He is a 2015 graduate of Glenvar High School.

Devonte is the son of Sherrie and Terry Moorman and grandson of Linda Bomar of Lynchburg, VA. He is also the brother of Terrica Moorman. The airman is a 2015 graduate of Glenvar High School.
