Several Salem students have been recognized for academic achievement during the spring 2026 semester at their respective universities.
Hunter Austin of Salem was named to the spring 2026 Dean’s List at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg. The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a grade-point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale while completing 12 or more semester hours of letter-graded coursework.
Sophia Walker of Salem was named to Point Park University’s spring 2026 Dean’s List. Walker was among more than 1,300 students recognized for the honor. Students must earn a GPA of at least 3.5 to qualify for the Dean’s List.
James Madison University also announced its spring 2026 President’s List, recognizing students for outstanding academic performance during the semester.
The following Salem students were named to the President’s List:
Avery Witt, a biology major.
Chance Long, an English major.
Nicholas Woodson, a nursing major.
Avery Flynn, a psychology major.
Emma LaFountain, a psychology major.
James Madison University is a public university located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and was founded in 1908.
