“Jazz in July” is set to make its much-anticipated return to the Longwood Park Amphitheater Saturday, July 15 at 3:30 p.m. The free day of live music features an eclectic lineup that once again has been procured by local jazz aficionado Lenny Marcus.

This year’s lineup includes Roscoe McFadden & Friends at 3:45 p.m., Jay Ware Quintet featuring Gracelyn Hedrick at 5:20 p.m., Michael Hawkins & The Brotherhood at 6:45 p.m. and Hoppie Vaughn & The Ministers of Soul at 8:10 p.m.

Vaughn and the Ministers of Soul headlined the event in 2010 when the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the amphitheater was held. Vaughn has performed with everyone from Delbert McClinton to Ronnie Milsap.

Gates open for this year’s event at 3:30 p.m. and jazz fans are encouraged to bring lounge chairs and blankets and to pack a picnic. The Tailgate, Lazy Bulldog, Salty Lobster & Co and Wicked Lemon food trucks will be onsite selling food and family-friendly beverages. Salem Catering will be selling beer and wine, but patrons are not allowed to bring alcohol into the venue.

Along with parking that is available at Longwood Park, attendees can also park at the Salem Museum and Oakey Field lots. A golf cart shuttle service will be available from those locations for those with mobility issues. No pets will be permitted.
