It took three days, but the Class 4 state track meet was finally completed Sunday in the rain. The Loudoun Valley boys and E.C. Glass girls won team state championships while the Salem girls were 29th and the boys were 25th.

On Friday, after only a few events were completed, the meet was postponed due to severe weather.  Saturday, after completing a few events, the meet was postponed again due to rain, lightening and flooding.  It was announced at that time the meet would start on Sunday at 8:30 am with hopes to complete it in one day, and on Sunday the meet resumed and ran without any breaks.  It rained most of the day but not enough to stop the meet.

Kalei Memmer, a freshman, was the only Salem girl to earn a medal with a fourth place in the discus. Memmer had her best throw of the season in spite of the wet, muddy conditions.

For the boys, Jeremiah Wilson was third in the 110m High Hurdles in a time of  15.85.
