Simpson, Sabra Musgrove

Sabra Musgrove Simpson, age 91, of The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Low Moor, Virginia, formerly of Old Church Street, Low Moor, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at The Brian Center.

She was born August 17, 1925, in Vinton, Virginia, to the late Robert Otis Musgrove and Lena Myrtle Oakes Musgrove. She was a retired beautician as well as a member of the Low Moor Presbyterian Church and the Women’s Church Circle. She loved animals of all kinds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde James Simpson, Sr., and two brothers  Robert Joseph Musgrove and William “Bill” Musgrove.

She is survived by three daughters, Judith Simpson Lienhardt and husband Jack of Salem, Patricia “Pat” Shires and husband O.E. “Bud” of Eagle Rock, and Katherine “Kitty” Gilliland and husband Bruce of El Paso, TX; a son, Clyde James “Jimmy” Simpson, Jr. and wife Becky of Low Moor; a sister, Betty Jean Musgrove Kardies and husband Paul of Lynchburg; six grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews; and her special family at The Brian Center.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Lisa Marshall officiating. Interment followed at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Virginia. The family received friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
