The old saying goes that nobody’s perfect. Well, you might have to revise that for this week’s football contest.
When I selected the games for the contest last week I figured this would be a really tough week. There wasn’t a “gimme” on there, like Glenvar against Liberty or anyone against Hidden Valley. I figured as many as three losses might win it, and as I corrected the entries while I watched the Lions and Bucs Monday the stack was getting low and I had three entries with two misses. Then came Sissy Sowers’ entry.
I checked it three or four times to make sure it was correct. She got every single game right, and I know it was in on time because I was here after 5 pm Friday and took the box away from the mail slot when I went home. Nice job Sissy, you deserve the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s.
For last week’s “19th Hole” question I asked you to pick the score of the Dallas-Washington game and the responses were about 50-50. And, for awhile it looked like Dallas was going to score 50 but the final score was Cowboys 44, Redsk. . . COMMANDERS 22. The closest to that score was Kevin Floyd, who picked Dallas to win 35-28 so he gets a free day of golf at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street.
For this week’s 19th Hole let’s go with the Salem-Pulaski game. It’s one of those rivalries where you throw out the records, and this year both teams would like to do so. Put your prediction in the space provided on the entry blank and the closest to the actual score will get a free day of golf at the Salem Municipal Course.
