The tradition continues at South Salem Elementary School as the two Virginia colleges come together in competition for the Commonwealth Cup. It’s “Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Peanut Butter all the time, Peanut Butter Jelly Time!”

South Salem students discovered a fun way to support the Salem Food Pantry and predict the winner of this year’s football game. Virginia Tech fans brought in Peanut Butter and UVA fans brought in jelly just as you see in the picture, brothers Auggie and Theo Snyder showed their support for the Wahoos!

Once again, the Falcons predicted a Hokie win this year. They had more jars of peanut butter than jell before we all tuned in to Saturday’s game to see if we will be singing “Gobble, Gobble, Gobble” or “Wahoo-Wa, Wahoo-wa!” When it was all said and done, it was the Virginia Tech Hokies who defeated the Cavaliers, 29-24. Both teams now have six wins and six losses.
