The Salem High boys’ lacrosse team is 7-2 after taking a 17-3 win over Cave Spring at Spartan Field Tuesday night. Salem’s only two losses to date were against highly touted private schools.
Parker Dallas had four goals and three assists to lead the Spartans in Tuesday’s win. Jackson Jones, Holden Custer, Ty Hicklin and Wade Marble had one goal each in the rout and goalie Richard Hof had six saves. Ryan Warren controlled the faceoffs, winning 15 of 18.
The boys also beat Albemarle last week, 13-1. Jackson Wininger had four goals to lead the Spartans while Dallas, Custer and Marble had two goals each. Dallas dished out four assists, Jones had three and Hof had five saves in goal.
“I thought we played a great team game,” said Salem coach George Revercomb. “The defense is playing outstanding.”
The Spartans will be back on the field tonight to host Rockbridge at 7:15 pm.
