The Salem baseball team remained undefeated with a 6-4 win over the Titans at Hidden Valley Tuesday. Salem is now 7-0.
Caleb Lingenfelter got the start on the mound for the Spartans and picked up his first varsity win. He went six and a third innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while fanning five. Hunter Tensen pitched a third of an inning in the home seventh and Joseph Quinn came on to get the last out for the save.
Offensively, Quinn and Zian Honaker had two hits each for the Spartans. Both drove in runs and Matt Wright also had a big RBI in the win. Salem banged out 11 total hits.
The Spartans will put their unbeaten record on the line tonight when they host William Byrd at Kiwanis Field. Game time is 5 pm and Honaker is the scheduled starter on the mound for Salem.
On Friday the Spartans are at Blacksburg.
