The Salem High baseball team remained undefeated with a 3-1 win at Christiansburg Tuesday. The Spartans are now 11-0.
Lefty Zian Honaker pitched a great game for Salem. He took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed just two singles in the game, fanning four in a complete game effort.
Jadon Fetrow led the offense with three hits, including a double. Catcher Matt Wright had a double and a triple and Honaker helped his own cause with a squeeze bunt RBI.
Salem beat Christiansburg ace pitcher Will Stout to sweep the season series from the Blue Demons.
“They were saving him for us,” said Salem coach Wes McMillan. “He’s supposed to be the best around.”
The Spartans had a home game with Patrick Henry postponed last Friday. The Spartans were at Pulaski Wednesday with Caleb Lingenfelter scheduled to start on the mound. On Friday Salem will host PH, and Hunter Clifton will get the ball in that one.
