The Salem High boys and girls competed in the Walt Cormack Invitational indoor track meet at VMI last Saturday and the Spartans had some strong performances. Josiah Persinger won the 55 dash. Fifth places went to Jonathan Vernon in the 300, Dominic Wright in the triple jump and the 4.200 relay team of Trenton Moyer, Wright, Bryson Hill and Isaiah Barlow.
Having season best performances were Lance Toapanta in the 1000, Walker Peterson in the 1600, Genelle Balthazar in the 55, Addyson Funk in the 1000, Avery Mangus in the 1000 and Arianna Simon in the long jump. Salem’s next competition will be this Saturday in the Bulldog Invitational Meet at Liberty University. Glenvar, who was off last weekend, will also be running in that meet.
