The Glenvar High track team will compete in the Class 2, Region C meet on May 23 at Amherst County High School.
The Highlanders competed in the Knights’ Track Classic at Cave Spring last Saturday and the boys tied Northside for sixth place among 20 teams that scored. Blacksburg’s boys and girls won team titles.
Kilian McCroskey won the 400 at Cave Spring and Jack Leonard took a third in the 300 hurdles. The 4×400 relay taem of Leonard, Dustin Wade, Brady Loder and McCroskey was also took a first.
The Glenvar girls were 16th. Logan Dunkenberger took third in the 200.
That was the last meet for the Highlanders before the regional meet. The Three Rivers District meet was cancelled, as were all district post-season sports events.
“We had districts taken away, and I’m not a fan of this at all,” said coach Neil Swanson.
