The Roanoke College baseball team dropped to 5-10 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference when the Maroons were swept at Hampden-Sydney last weekend. The Maroons lost 7-0 and 15-4 at Ty Cobb ballpark.

In the opener the Tigers scored in the first, fourth and sixth innings and kept RC from getting anything going offensively. Nate Prince, Alec Jones, Michael Hetzel, Liam Murphy, Tyler Galloway and Danny Ferguson accounted for Roanoke’s six hits in the game. Prince also had a stolen base, bringing his team leading total to 12.

In the nightcap the Tigers jumped out to an early lead and never trailed. Prince, Galloway and Dylan Bonzon each drove in a run and Hayden Giordano had a pair of hits.

With the two losses the Maroons dropped to 17-14 overall. They were scheduled to host Southern University and Christopher Newport this week before heading to Winchester for an ODAC doubleheader against Shenandoah University on Saturday. Roanoke will host Guilford at Radford University next Tuesday as the RidgeYaks return to town.
