Construction begins in early September on two ramp extensions: southbound entrance at MM 94 and northbound entrance at MM 105. Work at MM 94 will occur first. Completion is expected summer 2026.
• Nighttime lane closures Sunday–Thursday, 9 p.m.–6 a.m.
• Shoulder closures and narrowed/shifted ramps overnight
• Two-week ramp closures (dates TBD; message boards will alert drivers)
I-81 Lane Widening – Exit 137 to Exit 141

The $179 million project to widen I-81 from two to three lanes in both directions continues through early 2026. Two lanes remain open in each direction.
• Alternating nighttime lane/shoulder closures Sunday–Thursday, 8 p.m.–6 a.m. (lane widths reduced to 11 feet)
• Exit 140 on/off ramps closed Fridays & Saturdays, 8 p.m.–8 a.m.
• Possible flagging on Routes 635 & 619
• Work zones at Wildwood Road (Exit 137) and Thompson Memorial Drive (Exit 140)
• 60-mph work zone speed limit strictly enforced
