Inclement weather forced postponements of many sports events in the past week, including basketball games involving Salem and Glenvar High School.

Last Thursday the Salem boys and girls were weathered out of games with Blacksburg, while Glenvar boys were denied a trip to James River. Those games will be made up on January 23.

On Monday of this week Glenvar had two games snowed out. The girls were supposed to go to William Byrd, and that will be rescheduled for February 8. The boys had a home game with Alleghany, and that’s been rescheduled for this Friday, January 13.

On Tuesday Salem’s games with Cave Spring were snowed out. Both the boys and girls were to be made up on Wednesday of this week in a doubleheader at Cave Spring, since Salem had a wrestling match scheduled for the SHS gym. Glenvar was snowed out of a boys game with Auburn, and that will be made up on February 6.

Glenvar’s boys are back in action today at home against Giles in a Conference 38 game. On Friday the Salem boys are at Hidden Valley and the Titans come here for girls’ hoops. Glenvar’s girls are at Giles.

Next Tuesday, January 17, the Salem boys are at Patrick Henry and the PH girls come here, while the Glenvar boys play host to Floyd County.
