The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce announced Monday evening that Sheri Winesett will serve as interim executive director effective July 3.

The chamber’s board of directors unanimously approved Winesett’s appointment.  She succeeds Doloris Vest, who served as the executive director since 2014 and concluded her role with the chamber this month.

“Our community is witnessing incredible growth and transformation and it is increasingly important that our chamber, county officials and the business community are all working collaboratively to drive this growth and prosperity,” Stephanie Frost, president of the board of directors, said in the announcement. “We are looking forward to Sheri’s leadership in guiding our chamber into a more efficient and effective organization for our members.”

Winesett brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Chamber of Commerce. She has worked with Roanoke-based Stone Mountain Advisors providing clients with strategic planning, negotiation and change-management services. She has previously served on the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce executive committee and was president of the Haymarket-Gainesville Business Association.

“The Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce is fortunate to have met with Sheri and to have secured her position with the chamber.Business-to-business connections, which is part of the essential work of chambers of commerce, is critical to Botetourt County’s success,” said Ken McFadyen, Botetourt County Director of Economic Development and Botetourt County Chamber of Commerce board member.

“This is an exciting time for the Botetourt community,” Winesett said. “I am looking forward to working with the business community and partnering with community leaders to let everyone know that Botetourt is open for business.”
