ROANOKE COUNTY – Explore Park’s Illuminights Winter Walk of Lights trail set-up is underway. The 2022 trail will be reversed, giving visitors a unique and different experience from the first three years. Set-up staff have been working since Labor Day on the updated trail, which features 50,000 more lights, new displays and photo ops along the trail.
Roanoke County and Center in the Square will operate the signature event over the span of 33 nights from Nov. 19 through Dec. 30. Ticket information will be available in October, with ticket sales starting on Tuesday, Nov. 1. All proceeds from the event go to support the missions of Center in the Square and Explore Park.
Explore Park is located at Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 115. Attendees can access Explore Park for Illuminights from the Blue Ridge Parkway North (US 220) at Milepost 121, Blue Ridge Parkway South (VA 24) at Milepost 112 or from Explore Park’s Alternate Entrance at 3900 Rutrough Road.
