The top-seeded and ninth-ranked Washington and Lee women’s lacrosse team endured a 50-minute weather delay and used a five-goal run in the first half to produce a 14-7 victory over second-seeded Randolph-Macon in the championship game of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament last Sunday afternoon in Lexington.
The Generals will advance to the NCAA tournament. The 2018 title is the Generals’ ninth straight conference title and 19th overall ODAC crown.
Roanoke College was eliminated from the tournament in the opening round by Lynchburg College, 10-7, in Lynchburg last Wednesday. Third-seeded Lynchburg held off a second-half rally by six-seeded Roanoke as the Maroons finished the season with an 8-8 overall record.
